Video Storytelling: Creating An Emotional Connection

I have a passion for storytelling. In my role as Director of Marketing and Creative Director I have had incredible opportunities to hear powerful stories and create visuals to help bring those stories to life. Storytelling breaks down walls and creates emotional connections and vulnerability - places that aren’t often accessed in an age of big advertising and over-the-top stunts. For me, it’s a true privilege to have a heartfelt interview with a human being brave enough to share.

Client: Adventist Health Systems

Amidst the thousands of medical devices and systems needed to maintain a hospital system, it can be easy to lose focus on THE WHY. This film crafted for Adventist Health Systems was introduced to inspire those that feel disconnected from patient care - and remind them that everything they do impacts even the smallest of patients. This story was especially near and dear to my heart - my son was in the NICU for 2 weeks after he was born. The doctors, nurses, parents, and IT staff were incredible to work with for this production.

Client: Adventist Health Systems

Each day we have a decision to make - to answer the call deep within each of us to thrive. This video challenged the employees at Adventist Health Systems to look at each day - and the countless opportunites presented - as an opportunity to grow, strive for excellence, and make a positive impact on all that they come in contact with. This film set the tone as the kickoff to a large annual event - highlighting the impact each decision can make on the lives of patients and co-workers.

Client: Loma Linda University Health

We were invited by Loma Linda University Health to create a 5-part film series to promote their multi-year marketing campaign entitled “LIVE IT.” Featuring a diverse group of individuals, the series focused on how doing things differently impacted their health and well-being - challenging the status quo of everyday life.

Client: Loma Linda University

Having the opportunity to create custom films for a university campus full of diverse, intelligent, and dynamic students was an adventure that will impact my work and life forever. For several years, we were blessed to create thought-provoking content that challenged not only our audiences, but us as producers. Amidst hard conversations on race, status, orientation, identity, and faith we crafted content that brought forth the questions that only we ourselves could answer. This was by far one of the most difficult yet fulfilling series to custom write and create.

Client: American Diabetes Association

As an official sponsor of the American Diabetes Association in Central Florida, we had the distinct opportunity to create a feature on one of the nation’s elite athletes - Luke Rosser. As an ambassador for the ADA, Luke competes at the highest level of endurance racing for his age group, and champions good health, exercise, and diet amidst his diagnosis. His story was truly inspirational.

Client: Adventist Health System

I had the opportunity to partner with multiple departments within Adventist Health System to assist with a recruiting campaign for the Adventist Information Technology (AIT) Department. Collaboration between Human Resources, AHS Marketing, and AIT created a chance for us to align each department's goals for the recruiting campaign and bring in the right candidates that shared in the mission and vision of the organization.

Photography: People, Places, and Moments

I find a lot of joy when there is a camera in my hand. I have served as my architecture firm’s principal photographer for the past 6 years, capturing everything from professional headshots and candid moments to amazing architecture, advertising content, and live events. I have also provided art direction in coordinating many of our largest photo shoots for our architectural portfolio. It has been an exciting part of my role to capture the ebb and flow of life all around me and guide the production process.

Experiential: Creating Spaces to Interact and Connect

One of the most exciting parts of my experience is featuring the firm at industry conventions and conferences. With a packed conference season each year, booths are designed and constructed constantly for the different markets we represent under the same banner. Large client hospitality events of 600+ attendees are often coupled with these conferences as a way to say thank you to our current clients for their support and share what we do with potential clients.

Promotional: Physical and Digital Assets

Having the right digital and physical assets in hand (such as brochures, flyers, printed proposals, slide decks, presentation boards, portfolios for specific markets, and custom marketing pieces for individual clients) is an ever-present need for every company - no matter the size. As the steward of Brand Identity, I have had the privilege to develop and deliver outstanding print and digital assets to meet those needs. In my role as Director of Marketing and Creative Director I have designed and produced all of the firm’s Marketing printed assets in-house - and my Marketing studio is buzzing with the sounds of printing, binding, and vacuum-pressing. Did I forget to mention SWAG?!? Got that covered too…

Website and Social Media: Creating A Home on the Web

One of the first places a potential client will look for information is the web. Creating a beautiful, informative experience that is easy to navigate has been a top priority in my role. Over the years I have developed and built several website that have served as a place to feature what is important to our firm and to our clients that follows the brand experience from start to finish.

Leadership and Culture:

Leading one of the most active and visible teams in my leadership roles has been a privilege. With our business development, marketing, and creative teams sometimes spread across California (and nationwide), I have scaled AND expanded the capabilities of my departments to meet the growing needs of dynamic firms.

As Creative Director and Director of Marketing I have also embraced the direct impact that Marketing has on work culture. Creating spaces to connect with each other through office events and activities has brought a lot of joy and satisfaction in my role as a leader and connector of people. From firm-wide retreats, office barbecues, bowling events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations - our Marketing team has been there to plan and deliver these great events and experiences that bring people closer. We all work hard - and it is even better when we enjoy ourselves!
